Vidya, who hails from Hotgalli, Mysore, and Rutgar, who is the son of Bob Van Joizin and Jacqueline of the Netherlands, met both during studies in Sweden. Unique color of Indian tradition hidden in simplicity
Vidya’s parents wanted her daughter to be married to the traditional word Mangalaya method. On this, Rutgar spoke to his parents and the interesting thing was that he too agreed. He not only adopted Indian culture, but also took part in Linga Puja wearing Indian apparel in marriage. Now by looking at this, anyone can say – this was not just marriage, it was the union of two cultures!
Basavanna’s ideal and marriage became an example
The rituals of this unique wedding in the private welfare pavilion of Mysore were completed under the supervision of Dr. Gurbasava Mahaswamji of Channagiri Taluk Pandomtti Math. People from all over the country and abroad became a witness to this marriage and appreciated it wholeheartedly.
